What Your Support Means To Orlando & The Gospel
When the Apostle Paul writes to the church in Philippi, he begins his letter expressing gratitude for their “partnership in the gospel.” And then towards the end of the letter he again refers to their partnership and how they supported him financially, he says “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.” (Philippians 4:17)
Paul wants the believers in Philippi to understand how their financial partnership connects them to the advance of the gospel in a profound way. He wants them to know the correlation between their financial generosity and the credit they will receive from their participation. He is using investment language. In our context today, when someone invests financially in purchasing stock in a company, they are investing their money for a fractional ownership in that company. If the company does well, they will receive a share of the profits to their credit often in the form of a dividend. So what Paul is getting at is that when we invest our financial resources into efforts to advance God’s Kingdom and the Gospel, we can legitimately claim shared ownership of “the fruit that increases.”
So what was the fruit the Philippians got to share in through Paul’s ministry?
The answer is a harvest among the Gentiles (Romans 1:13)! Through Paul and his ministry team, the gospel was preached and disciples made in city after city. Churches were planted throughout the Roman Empire. Leaders were identified, equipped, and empowered to lead. And the churches devoted themselves to good works – caring for one another and for the good of their cities.
And this is the fruit you have the opportunity to share in with OCPN!
We believe that by intentionally and strategically working together as individual believers, leaders, and local churches to see more churches planted throughout Greater Orlando and Central Florida the fruit will be more multiplying disciples, more healthy leaders, and more churches serving the city! In short, a “gospel saturation” harvest among the unchurched and dechurched in Central Florida in our generation! That’s what you get to claim shared ownership of by investing your financial resources into this story!
What is it going to take to grow this story?
This year, we are training 16 leaders through our residencies. We have 3 leaders in the finishing residency, 5 leaders in the foundational residency in English, and 8 leaders in the foundational residency in Spanish.
Our budget for the 2023-2024 residencies is $200,000. For our next round of residencies 2024-2025, we would love to increase the number of planters in the finishing residency to at least 5 leaders. That means for 2024-2025 our budget would need to increase to $325,000.
Breakdown of our Budget
We have about 70% of our budget raised in commitments for 2024. Would you join us by making an end of the year donation or a commitment to give monthly in 2024?
